Michelle Jennett

Founder and Co-Inventor 

Michelle Jennett is a Research Affiliate at St. Michael's Hospital, working on cutting-edge research projects in Resuscitation Sciences. Concurrently, Michelle is earning a Master of Health Sciences, a professional course-based program, at the University of Toronto, Class of 2020, focusing on translational research and innovation within the healthcare system through bringing creative device solutions and procedural enhancements to market. 

Prior to Sunnybrook, Michelle was an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and Private Equity Associate at TPG Capital. While at TPG Capital, Michelle was responsible for the TPG Special Situations Partners’ (“TSSP”) Specialty Lending Europe fundraise and Associate on the TSSP Adjacent Opportunities 3.0 fundraise.

Michelle earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, with distinction, from the Richard Ivey School of Business. Upon graduation, she briefly attended the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law. While attending law school, Michelle was selected to be a Pro Bono Corporate Law Intern for McCarthy Tetrault, was an Associate Editor for two law journals and started a charitable initiative raising funds for abused women that expanded to law schools nationally.

Michelle now seeks to utilize her financial background towards commercializing innovations within healthcare.


Abimbola Saka, MD, MBA

Director of Marketing and Business Development

Upon graduation from Washington University of health and sciences Abimbola (Abi) completed a year postgraduate work experience in Internal Medicine and Surgery and worked with individuals with intellectual disabilities. The opportunity to rotate in various countries as a medical student facilitated my interest in patient care improvement through efficient healthcare measures and policies. Abimbola (Abi)’s goal is to enhance patient care through the implementation of patient centered health measures and policies. As a Translational Research candidate she intends not to only research and address current health measures and policies but also provide alternatives that may enhance the management of various health issues.  Abimbola’s is currently working towards becoming a cardiologist.
